Guest guest
I wasn't a vegetarian when I was pregnant but my daughter in my womb forced me to be Ovo-Lacto. Just watching a commercial of someone eating meat made me sick! I was 22 yrs old, and had eaten meat my entire life without even a thought of vegetarianism. When I had my daughter I went back to my 'normal' routine of eating meat but my daughter still refused it. I told my mother who would babysit her while I was in College and worked, that he didn't like meat and that she didn't have to eat it. But, my mother forced my daughter to eat meat until she liked it. As a matter of fact, when I was 12 my mother was babysitting a neighbor's son who was vegetarian also. She would throw out the food his mother brought and would feed him meat, without the mother's knowledge. So, of course she did the same to mine. She along with other people believe that vegetarians are sickly people. who are anemic, thin and unhealthy. My first attempt to go veg was disastrous, especially since I didn't have a clue what to cook etc. And when she came from out of town, she cooked meat and I agreed to eat it. So, we are going back after about six months of meat eating and after telling her how much better I feel over the phone last night, she said, Maybe I should try that! Tell them about how good you feel, how healthier you are etc. It may start changing the way they think but don't force them. And be strong with your choice and read as much as possible. THat's what is making the difference for me this time!
