Guest guest
Just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware that tempeh is not a reliable source of vitamin B-12. Reliable sources for vegans are fortified soymilks, fortified breakfast cereals, some fortified meat analogs (fake meats), and Vegetarian Support Formula nutritional yeast. For more about vitamin B12, see VRG's website - http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/b12.htm Reed Mangels, PhD, RD Nutrition Advisor, VRG PO Box 1463 Baltimore, MD 21203 www.vrg.org > > Message: 6 > Tue, 22 Jan 2002 15:07:29 EST > VAP79 > Re: Jenna...tell your parents > > > > > Just a small correction -- a *vegan* diet does not supply B12, but a > > lacto-ovo vegetarian diet does.
