You're doing the best you can by not eating meat. I was a vegetarian for 16 years before I became vegan. My favorite expression was, " What shall I have with cheese tonight? " If you truly want to become vegan, you will, and it will feel " right " to you. If you force yourself to do it, it won't stick. My suggestion is to do a lot of reading on the subject. Try reading some of Dr. John McDougall's books. He explains a lot about how dairy products are hazardous to our health. A site that is very informative is: http://www.notmilk.com/ Good luck! Guest guest
www.milksucks.com is good too, and the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine www.pcrm.org, will have stuff if you search a bit. www.vrg.org I'm sure would have something as well, as the Vegetarian Resource Group always has good info. There's new research all the time showing how bad dairy is for your health. -
Guest guest
I discovered I was allergic to dairy after cutting it out. It took me a few weeks of giving it up to notice. I never connected my frequent sinus infections with dairy until I started doing this program and looking at what I ate. Giving up dairy made almost a big a difference in my life as giving up sugar. All of the sudden after all the years of eating dairy, I could breathe. I didn't really notice until I ate some cheese after having gone without any dairy for several weeks. I also seemed to have problems with the fat content of cheese, so giving up dairy helped with this program too. Good luck with your month off dairy. Guest guest
Hi Amy, I had a similiar experience, since I wanted to reduce my weight I eliminated flour and sprouted grain bread. Gradually I reduced the grain too. I soon noticed that my allergies went away. I am able to sleep without a stuffed nose. I got off the cortesteroid nose spray. It is so nice to lay down and not immediately stuff up, and not have to carry a box of kleenex around with me all the time. The journal is invaluable. ~Deanna
Guest guest
Hi Deanna, How funny that our bodies give us so many clues that something is not working and we don't realize until we really pay attention. I had sinus problems as long as I can remember. Most of my family also has bad sinus problems. My aunt has even had surgery to help correct it. I just assumed it was hereditary. I've told them about my experiences, but I'm considered to be kind of out there as I don't drink or smoke or eat sugar. --- DVR2004 wrote: > Hi Amy, > > I had a similiar experience, since I wanted to > reduce my weight I eliminated > flour and sprouted grain bread.
