Nutritional yeast isn't naturally high in B12, it does have to be fortified. If

you're buying your nutritional yeast in the bulk section of the HFS and it's

kind of a bright yellow in color, then it's Red Star Vegetarian Support Formula

nutritional yeast, which is the kind you want.

Oh, I know what nut. yeast is, I have been eating it for years, but I don't

understand how to use the recipe that was in the original message. It kind of

sounded like a spread or something but I'm not sure. I had nut. yeast sprinkled

on my bagel this morning. :)

Nutritional yeast comes in flakes, it is a yeast. You can use it in cooking,

alot of people use it as a sort of " cheese " replacement. It has a kind of

nutty taste and is a good source of B vitamins and protein.

The recipe sounds to me like the " sauce " part of a recipe I have for a vegan

version of macaroni and cheese, so I think she meant it to go on pasta.
