Guest guest
Jackie, I can probably help you. We've seen all of the Veggie Tales videos (our public library has them, free for a week!) and we own about half of them. If you can get them from your library, you'll be able to pre-view them to make sure they're appropriate for your kids before you buy. Each video is about 30 minutes long. Most re-tell an Old Testament story: 'Dave & The Giant Pickle' is David & Goliath, 'Where's God When I'm S-Scared?' is Daniel in the lion's den, 'Josh & The Big Wall' is Jericho, 'Rack Shack & Benny' is Shadrach Meshach & Abednego, 'Esther'. Some are not a biblical story but do mention God and the Bible ('Larry Boy', 'Silly Songs', 'Lyle'). The only New Testament stories that come to mind are the Good Samaritan parable in 'Are You My Neighbor?' and of course 'The Toy That Saved Christmas'. There's also a bible verse (some OT, some NT) at the end of each video which they spend about 30 seconds reading/paraphrasing. The ones I know are: 'Dave & The Giant Pickle' -- With God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26 'Are You My Neighbor?' -- Love your neighbor as yourself. Leviticus 19:18 'Josh & The Big Wall' -- As for God, His way is perfect. 2 Samuel 22:31a 'Where's God When I'm S-Scared?' -- So do not fear for I am with you. Isaiah 41:10 Check out their website for a short description of each of the videos and other productions. A movie about Jonah is supposed to be in theaters this fall. http://www.bigidea.com/videos/veggietales/ Bonnie <<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>> Tue, 19 Feb 2002 19:37:16 -0600 Jackie Harris <ajharris Veggie Tales Do most all of the Veggies Tales have a Christian theme? The only one I've seen is the story of " Esther the girl who would be Queen " (we're Jewish) and the kids really liked it...I was considering getting others...
