Guest guest
Anyone who buys meat IS having the animal killed for them. Buying meat creates a demand for meat, which in turn increases supply (more animals are killed). If there were no demand there would be no supply. This is basic economics. Eat meat or don't eat meat, but don't kid yourself that the animal is not being killed for you. > But, others feel that it was not > participating because they are > not saying, " Please kill this for me Sports - Coverage of the 2002 Olympic Games http://sports. Guest guest
I understand that, that's why I became a vegetarian. But, you seem angry about meat-eating. While I do not want to participate in the killing of animals, I am not one who is trying to make the word Vegetarian or Vegan, because I know that won't happen. I respect others choices, even those that understand fully where their food is coming from and won't change. I don't think it's right but I was no better. I am not anti-meater, sorry but I can't join in on your anger.
Guest guest
I will not speak from a religious point of view on this as I do not know enough about buddism to do so but I personally feel that we all travel through our lives and learn and change and grow in our own ways and at our own pace. I do not like the fact that some people eat meat. My husband does, and all of my family do except my children and I and even my daughter does occasionally... even though I do discourage it as I do feel it is my job to teach her what I feel is right. I am saddened by people eating meat but not angered, as it is not my right to tell another individual what they should be eating... I came to this decision in my own way and at my own time. Though I hope they too will eventually stop eating animals ,if they ever do, they need to come about it in their own way to. We are all human... even the Dalai Lama. His eating meat doesn't belittle all of the other great teachings he offers any more than our own vises (if I can call it that I'm not sure) belittle the great things each of us offer to the world. I admit that I am working on a great number of things that I find myself doing even though I know that they are wrong. I am not proud of them... but I hope that in my own time and in my own way I will find the way to stop. I sure hope that people will try to see the good in me and not be angered by my differences.
