Guest guest
I have been thinking about subscribing to Vegetarian times, but I didn't find any copies here where I usually get international magazines (I live in Switzerland). I am currently on a cleanse, but after I am done with the cleanse, I'll go on a 40-30-30. Would Vegetarian Times be helpful for me to find vegetarian recipes which are also kind of high in protein? I like to vary my weekly menus a lot and try new recipes, and I have trouble finding higher protein vegetarian recipes. How many of you are rs? Guest guest
No, I think it would be a waste of money. You can get better recipes online, the mag is full of useless filler, and the postage would be obscene. I dream of a veggie magazine in the style of Saveur. *sigh* Oh, well... Guest guest
I have d to VT for over a year -- I try new recipes all the time, and there are usually at least 1 or 2, and many times 4 or 5 from the magazine that I want to try right away. They also give a comprehensive breakdown of the nutritional values of the recipes, which is useful. For new recipes I also search the web (go to a search engine and type in " vegan recipes " or " vegetarian recipes " ), and one of my favorite sites is Veggies Unite -- http://www.vegweb.com/ Happy cooking... Guest guest
Carm, Do you think I'd be better off getting the Hiltl cooking book? I am looking for vegetarian and vegan recipes with a sort of low glycemic index. Did you get it for Xmas? Elisa
Guest guest
What your opinion on veg life magazine? What I've seen it appears to have more recipes and less fill than vegetarian times but it only comes out 4 times a year. Guest guest
Elisa- I did get the Hiltl cookbook for Christmas - it's great. I have tons of cookbooks. I don't understand what a low glycemic index is. You and Sara should come here one morning and spend the day and we can look through my books and go on the internet together. Fridays are good days for me. Or you could come on a Saturday while Sasha is at his class. Let me know! Carmen in Zurich > > >Carm, > >Do you think I'd be better off getting the Hiltl cooking book?
