Guest guest
Dear Julie, Regarding your Feb 28th post: I do agree strongly with the points you've made about excessively censoring children's literature for imperfect treatment of animals; but I was definitely put off by your hostile tone. Remember, we're all on the same team here. I've converted a lot of meat-eaters in my 12 years of veganism. Even the ones I haven't converted make vegan meals for our family when we come to visit, eat vegan meals at our house, and even make vegan treats at the neighborhood parties so I don't have to bring anything special for my family. How nice is that? I tried the hostile bullying approach in my earlier days of being vegan. Most of the time, people just stop listening. I now find that if I temper my intensity and opinions (not always an easy task), people are more open-minded and ask me a lot of questions. If they don't feel threatened, they're usually curious and accomodating. Just a word to the wise. andrea > > > > Digest Number 361 >2 Mar 2002 10:48:02 -0000 > >For more information about vegetarianism, please visit the VRG website at >http://www.vrg.org and for materials especially useful for families go to >http://www.vrg.org/family. > >
Guest guest
Andrea; your approach is the right one what we have chosen is best shared thru example. When people see how healthy you and your family are; they will then reevaluate their choices. Live by example not by verbal dogma.
