Guest guest
Just found out (from a placard placed in front of the product) that Whole Foods Prenatal Essentials multivitamin, while claiming to be vegetarian on the front and having no apparent non-vegetarian items in the ingredients list, in fact has some sort of derivative of gelatin in it. Whole Foods is apologetic, and offers a full refund to anyone who brings back any unfinished bottles. As far as I can tell, there's no other reasonable choice, at least at Whole Foods. All the other prenatals have extremes of quantities (30% RDA of one vitamin, 4,250% of another, for example). Guess regular multivitamins will have to do from now on. (Please, no discussion about how if only I were on a healthy enough diet, I wouldn't need the vitamins. I consider them a simple insurance policy, which is why I'm not interested in taking multi-multis, just bare minimum levels.) Thought people would like to know, Liz
Guest guest
Thanks for the heads-up. BTW, I don't think anyone would fault you for taking a prenatal vitamin. After all, that's when the extra 'insurance' is needed the most. Maria " E. R. Guest guest
Liz, When I was pregnant I took and liked Rainbow Lite prenatals, and Source Naturals, and Nature's Way. All are vegan. Hope that helps. Peace, Laura
