Guest guest
This was from the November 2001 issue of the Veg. Times. I finally took the time to relook up the actual details and it says: The study was done by the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine & published in the Journal of the American MEdical Association (August 2001). Doctors evaluated 811 men & women between the ages of 20 & 34 who participated in soy and cow's milk studies as infants. No substantial differences were found in more than 30 health areas. The only exception: The soy-fed women reported sightly longer menstrual periods (1/3 of a day). The concern was wither phytoestrogens, estrogen like compounds found in soy, could affect the reproductive system or create reproductive health problems in adulthood. I believe this was one of the first long term studies about soy formula and it responds to the concerns raised in that anti-soy article.
