Guest guest
Does anyone have any alternative ideas to painting eggs for Easter activities. My daughter loves to paint and I don't want to deny her the opportunity to be creative but don't want to include eggs in that creativity since we don't eat them!! We already bake cookies. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks. Guest guest
My family solved this problem by purchasing wooden eggs from a craft store. We used sealer and fixer as well as paint pens. My son, who was 2 at the time, loved it. The paint pens help keep the paint mess down and you have a permanent keepsake. We even used this method to make ornaments for the grandparents last Christmas. --Audrey. >Does anyone have any alternative ideas to painting eggs for Easter >activities. Guest guest
I've seen wooden eggs in craft stores. I saw glass eggs that come with paints in the Hearthsong catalog. I saw cute, colored ceramic (or some material like that) eggs at Hobby Lobby that I'm sure could be painted. I plan on going those routes when my son is old enough to paint. I also ordered paper mache eggs (that open up)from Hearthsong to use in his basket and hunt (versus plastic). Guest guest
You can paint wooden eggs with your daughter(found at craft stores). And use those for an egg hunt. Also I'm making my son a basket with nutritious snacks and some books. ~keara --- Thomas Hansen <tckhansen wrote: > > Does anyone have any alternative ideas to painting > eggs for Easter activities. Guest guest
How about painting pots that you can then put seeds in and grow veggies or flowers or something. You can get the plain clay pots pretty inexpensive and easy to find in all sizes. It is a fun thing for the kids to do and very 'springy'. My son also loves to paint rocks and we put them in an 'Easter basket'. It never made any sense to me when I was a kid for Easter to have rabbits and eggs together. I do have found memories of coloring blown eggs and I still have a few, but they eventually break so Parker's rocks will last a lot longer. And of course they are more animal friendly. :-) Happy Spring everyone, Linda --- Thomas Hansen <tckhansen wrote: > > Does anyone have any alternative ideas to painting > eggs for Easter activities. Guest guest
You could decorate easter baskets. Find wooden ones that you can paint or decorate with ribbons and flowers. Or make your own easter bonnets. Find some cheep hats and glew ribbon and flowers and other decorations to them. Paint easter pictures and hang them all over the walls. You could even cut out paper in egg shape or bunny shape and paint them. Umm, I could probobly think of a few more... Hope this helps.
