Guest guest
Hi I am looking for a vege parent and/or playgroup. I am in the Champaign-Urbana-Savoy area. I know of someone else in the area who is also interested in a playgroup. She has 3 children at home during the day 2 1/2 y/o twins and a 5 y/o. (Other one is in school) She is more on the pure vegan side and I enjoy both vege and vegan stuff! Since I am 4 mo prego and still new to the area any info would be helpful. I am on two waiting lists--one for mops(I don't know if I will join) and one for a preggy exercise class until June! I wonder if I should even try Le Leche. I don't want to be disappointed anymore! Any tips on BF and diet during this eventful time would be great. Hope there is a group out there!! Thanks a lot! Heidi
Guest guest
Heidi, I found LLL in Urbana to be very veg friendly. The first meeting I went to they were discussing whole foods. I mentioned I was vegan and had several people come up to me after the meeting to ask about veganism or say they were 'trying to be veg'. I also belong to a group called Natural Family Living Group that has a couple veg members. They are veg friendly, but I am frustrated at times due to the amount of dairy at meetings. The group is great for anyone interested in breast-feeding, family bed, carrying babies in clings, attachment parenting, homebirth, vaccine issues, etc. If you want a website or more info just email me privately. Also, there is a great yoga class for women near Strawberry Fields. I loved this class while I was pregnant and you can join anytime.
