Guest guest
>I am not a 100% raw foodist or juicer but am using it in combo with a lacto->ovo veggie diet. Any comments from anyone on juicing or raw food??? I have some raw in my diet ( ideally would like to be 100% but am struggling with cravings You might have heard of this list already, but there's a called " Harmonious Living " and it's a support group to healthy living, where one of the main aspects looked at is the raw food diet. It's a very friendly group, you'd like it I'm sure. Guest guest
We bought a new juicer a couple months ago and we eat a lot of raw foods and juice quite bit. When we first got the juicer we made a lot of carrot juice and fruite juices, then we thought about it and decided we were composting the best part of the fruit and carrots and left with the sugar. Our juicer is the Green Star and it is designed for wheatgrass and greens as well as your fruits, etc. Anyway, we still juice veggies; mostly greens, but we tend to eat our fruit raw instead of juicing. We do make smoothies with frozen organic fruit in the blender. I would be interested in any recipe for juiced greens...we are running out of ideas and I think someone on this list mentioned getting a lot of their green leafy vegetables through juicing. As a side note we (two year old son included) love Rebars. We've only found them on Vegan Essentials, but a Canadian friend introduced them to us. Has anyone seen them in the stores? They are 'energy bars' made from only organic fruits and vegetables (like bok choy...only energy bar I know of with bok choy as an ingredient...I love it). Linda Savoy, IL USA PS Ds loves to help juice and wakes up asking for carrot juice so we do make carrot juice still. I'd love suggestions for the leftover carrot...I really hate composting it. Guest guest
Linda, You could try using the leftover carrot pulp in a recipe for carrot cake. You may need to add a little extra liquid to compensate for the liquid that was juiced out.
