Guest guest
Hey everyone. Some info re: sunscreen: The sunscreen I use on my kids and self is awesome, in my opinion. It's made by Aubrey Organics and is called Green Tea Sunblock for children (SPF 25). I find it at my health food store. It's vegan and as natural as you can get. It doesn't claim to be waterproof but I've used it on my girls since they were around 6 months old (or whenever they say you can put sunscreen on them) and they have never burned-even at the pool or the beach. And that's living in Florida up until 18 months ago. I would reapply it periodically though, if they're spending a lot of time in the water. The sunscreen ingredients are PABA and Titanium Dioxide, and the other ingredients are plant oils and extracts. andrea > > > > Digest Number 397 >20 Apr 2002 07:56:39 -0000 > > >For more information about vegetarianism, please visit the VRG website at >http://www.vrg.org and for materials especially useful for families go to >http://www.vrg.org/family. > >
Guest guest
We went today for Speedway's holistic appointment and the vet gave us a " kidney " diet for older cats that he removed the salt and said it would help her with the heart - if you want I can post it - only downfall is it's ground turkey/chicken and eggs (with other stuff). I've always had a dilemna with the animals - I can't see making them become vegan even though I know what is in the food etc. - they are carnivorous and it is my responsibility to care for them not to " change " or go against their bodily systems. Plus I still have not seen any long term studies on the vegan cats living long (dogs do but I'm seeing things showing cats are having problems at 7-8 and with all my babies in their late teens that is a real young age for me). Guest guest
Hi Pam I don't know much about cat's problems, but they do seem to get a lot of kidney trouble etc. There's always a lot of talk about them not eating a vegan diet, but humans feed them cooked meat, or probably tinned food which contains all the rubbish meat. Surely they would be healthier if fed raw meat - their natural diet. I hope everybody's cats regain good health. Jo --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
Sorry, didn't understand. Of course you would want to keep your volume of mail down, especially if it is some aspect of health you would rather not discuss. I sometimes feel that way about recipes for _____ (name your least favourite food) or other such concoctions *LOL* which I eat only under duress. Seriously, you *do* know that you can go on NoMail while you are away from your computer, don't you? Then you can glance through the 'missed mail' via the website when you return to homebase. That's what I do. It probably takes up less space in the mailbox than, say, this long discussion about a few posts on the subject of bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, ADD etc. Anyway, that's what I advise if you're anxious about missing any mail - I know how that can be ;=) Best, Pat > > My intention is not to offend or make light of > anyone's situation.
