Guest guest
I am writing about A Real Life magazine, to which I've been a r for years. It's rare that I can pick up a publication and feel that nearly everything I read applies to me and my life in some way, to feel so nourished. It's a sad day today, because I had to cancel my subcriptio to my favorite magazine ever. She apparently saw the light and decided that " some people need animal products " after having been vegetarian for years. She read Eat Right for Your Blood Type, which, while very convincing has little or no scientific backing. She is claiming that she feels better eating some fish, and that it's ok because she appreciates the animal's sacrifice. Yeah. Then she went on to promote Sally Fallon's book, Nourishing Traditions. Ms. Fallon has, I believe, singlehandedly (is that one word?) done more to damage the soy industry than any " researcher " I know, and her methods have been criticized. I've read suggestions that she is supported by the meat industry, which isn't suprising considering this quote, which appeared in A Real Life: " very little evidence to support the contention that a diet low in cholesterol and saturated fat actually reduces death from heart disease or ain any way increases one's life span. " I am so profoundly disappointed in ARL, and I wanted to make sure you knew not to . It is no longer a vegetarian publication. I've done much to support and promote this magazine in the past, and I wouldn't want you all or anyone to think that I support what she says now. Her back issues are great, though. Guest guest
Melanie, I'm sorry to hear that. I had read an intro issue a while back, and liked it, but never got around to subscribing. I'm sad to hear that someone else is promoting the whole blood type nonsense. Also, when you're murdered against your will, you're not making a sacrifice. I don't know how that can be confusing. Anyway, thanks for letting us know. Leena -
Guest guest
Thanks for the heads-up on " A Real Life " . If being of solely vegetarian content was an important criterion for my family in choosing a publication, then I'm sure we'd re-evaluate our subscription to the newsletter. But then, I guess we wouldn't be reading much of anything! Liz
