Guest guest
VegParent-Boston/ VegParent-Boston is a networking list for parents of vegetarian young people around Boston. Most lists focus on what to feed newborns, infants, and toddlers. This list will share personal relationships with Boston-area parents of young vegetarians from newborns through mid-20's and beyond, if those parenting relationships could benefit from vegetarian support. This list has autonomy from the local Boston Vegetarian Society and is not a BVS program, but we do encourage all Boston-area vegetarians to check out the Boston Vegetarian Society (www.BostonVeg.org), other vegetarian groups, and vegetarians resources of many kinds so that we can share with one another and make our great vegetarian lives better than they would become without that committed vegetarian community. We would like to make all those local groups more friendly to the issues, needs, and concerns of vegetarian parents, children, and families. Perhaps, through our networking, we'll be able to discern why that has seldom been the case in vegetarian communities; certainly a family-unfriendliness is the path to the disintegration of groups, or at least a thorough flushing out of their membership over time. We will collect on our site an array of resources for vegetarian families. We will nourish and escort our children across many of life's crises, and we will counsel our vegetarian teens and 20-somethings to better lives as vegetarians, where they may lead our vegetarian communities as they find personal and family success for themselves. We may even become involved in the local EarthSave Boston's Health School Lunch Program initiative. Please invite your vegetarian friends who are parents and your friends who are parents of vegetarian young people.
