Guest guest
Sandra, I'm between DC and Baltimore. Considered more a suburb of DC. It only takes about 45 mins. to get to downtown Baltimore. Feel free to email me and I'm happy to connect with you. Peace, Laura
Guest guest
You should check out the Baltimore EarthSave chapter and the Vegetarian Society of DC (they have things in Baltimore too like restaurant visits, etc.). It is a great area to be veg! Linda (jealous because she lives in the Midwest now...sigh) - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup http://fifaworldcup. Guest guest
Ranchleigh, Sept 1. That mean anything to you? Doesn't to me! Sandra > Sandra - I live just outside of Baltimore. When are you moving and where? >
Guest guest
Sandra Ranchleigh didn't mean anything to me, so I looked it up. It appears to be the name of a neighborhood or an area rather than a town. You are near Mt. Washtington, which means that you are close to Fresh Fields, a Whole Foods store. It's located in an old mill or something. Nice location with a Starbucks right next door if that means anything to you. Mt. Washington is sort of a gentrified funky kind of place. A number of little restaurants, including a really good Middle Eastern with my favorite black bean soup. I can't recall the name right now. There's a place where you can make, or at least decorate your own pottery. There is a light rail station there too to get into downtown Baltimore if you don't want to drive. There actually is another good Middle Eastern place in a shopping center near you too. Give me a little time and I'll remember the name. For movies, you've got to go to the Senator, which isn't far from you either. It's one of those great old big ones, built in 1939. Hope this helps. If I can track down the names of those restaurants, I'll post them. Karen - Sandra Mort Wednesday, June 12, 2002 3:10 PM Re: VRG & Baltimore Ranchleigh, Sept 1. That mean anything to you? Guest guest
Hi Sandra & Laura, I live in western Balto. county and and am on the look out for new folks all the time. I've only very recently (since mid-August) switched my diet to vegetarian, I've fallen off a few times since then but was eager to get back on track. Initially I just thought I'd see how long I could go without meat but since then I've been reading a great deal about it and organics and how they benefit us and the planet. To top it off my 5 1/2 year old was diagnosed with mild asthma and a myriad of food allergies last year (eggs, milk, fish, shellfish, nuts, & peanuts) so the vegan life suits her. I immediately had to start reading ingredients and going a little deeper about how I'd been caring for her. I'm trying to heal her as much as possible from the inside out and am concerned that lots of the things we take for granted may be the very things that are poisining us... foods (non organic and animal, health & beauty products, clothing, carpeting etc. This week I treated her to her first natural food lunch to offset McD's but would love more infromation on what you do with your kids???
