Guest guest
I follow the parents list on a daily basis and felt that two articles written by VRG's Nutrition Advisor Reed Mangels, PhD, RD and Virginia Messina, MPH, RD for The Journal of The American Dietetic Association would be of extreme value to many individuals on this list. The articles are titled " Considerations in Planning Vegan Diets: Children, " and " Considerations in Planning Vegan Diets: Infants. " VRG received a small grant to publish copies of both these articles. Topics covered include nutrient needs, top vegan sources for calcium, iron, zinc, and vitamin B-12, food guides for children of various ages, sample menus, etc. An extensive list of references is also given. Anyone interested in receiving these articles simply needs to send 3 first class stamps to cover postage and a request for these specific articles to The Vegetarian Resource Group, PO Box 1463, Baltimore, MD 21203.
