Guest guest
I'm trying to prepare healthy, vegetarian meals but I often see recipes for quinoa and they say you need a fine sieve to clean it. Where do you find that? I've checked all over and can't seem to find one. Has anyone had experience preparing quinoa? Thanks. Guest guest
I bought a gold coffee filter (I'm sure that the nylon equivilent would work fine) at a garage sale and have been successfully using this to wash and drain my quinoa for years. I just cover the grain with water in a bowl, swish it around, and drain it into the filter. Hope this helps, Linda jonicadalton wrote: > I'm trying to prepare healthy, vegetarian meals but I often see > recipes for quinoa and they say you need a fine sieve to clean it. > Where do you find that? Guest guest
When I prepare quinoa I just rinse it with water several times and drain it. It does seem to improve the taste a little (less bitter). I don't use a sieve and it seems to turn out just fine with the washing. Seems to work. 2. Much easier - Norquin brand quinoa doesn't need cleaning. I don't know if it is available in the USA, though. Be well, Hadass in Winnipeg.
