Guest guest
Hi, everyone! Does anyone know if the Chuck E. Cheese pizzas are vegan if ordered without cheese??? We want to take my dd somewhere *inside* to play, and we can't think of any other place! (It's very hot and humid this time of year in South Texas!) Thanks! I'm pretty sure they make most of their money off the games, anyway. ---- Patricia Bullington-McGuire <patricia President, The Arlington Cooperative Organization The brilliant Cerebron, attacking the problem analytically, discovered three distinct kinds of dragon: the mythical, the chimerical, and the purely hypothetical. Guest guest
Yes they are. Not too long ago, I asked for specific ingredients of the food at Chuck E Cheese via e-mail. Unfortunately, I deleted the response after printing it off. Below are the ingredients of the dough and sauces: If you need more info on ingredients of other foods, just e-mail the company at guestrelations. Crust Mix: Bleached wheat flour enriched (niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), partially hydrogenated vegtable shortening (soybean and/or cottonseed oil), sugar, salt, yeast, calcium sulfate, calcium proxide Custom Spice Blended Pizza Sauce: Tomato puree (Water, tomate paste), high fructose corn syrup, salt, spices, garlic powder, onion powder, citric acid - " Sheri Slattery " <sheri Sunday, August 18, 2002 2:17 AM Chuck E. Guest guest
Hi. This is from " The Vegetarian Resource Group Guide to Fast Food " (www.vrg.org). The handbook is only something like $3 and I find it very helpful. Here's their entry for CEC: " We approached Chuck E. Cheese several times for current information, but did not receive a response for this update. We were previously told that the pizza at this restaurant chain is made with vegan sauce and dough. Toppings on the pizza include green peppers, mushrooms, onions, black olives, and tomatoes. The sources of the enzymes in the cheese are unknown. The salad bar at CEC's has a selection of salad fixings. There are also mayonnaise based pasta salads and, sometimes, a three bean salad. Salad dressings include Thousand Island (contains eggs), ranch and blue cheese (contain dairy), and Italian and fat-free Catalina (both are vegan). Guest guest
The last time I checked they were vegan...it's been a few months. To be safe call the manager and have him read the crust and sauce ingredients to you...that's what I did and he was very nice about it. - " Sheri Slattery " <sheri Sunday, August 18, 2002 1:17 AM Chuck E. Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who answered my question about the pizza at Chuck E. Cheese. I think we're going to try it soon! And I didn't even know you could just play the games and not eat. I've never been there before.... I can't wait until October, when it'll get below 80 degrees! Guest guest
i'm glad it was such a positive experience! Chuck E Cheese can just be hell when it's crowded, there's 10 birthday parties and it's just so chaotic. but otherwise it is nicer than i thought too Sheri Slattery <sheri Fri, 23 Aug 2002 16:28:31 -0500 Vegetarian Parents Chuck E. Cheese Thanks to everyone for answering my questions about Chuck E. Cheese. We decided to give it a try, and I was really surprised at how nice the place was! I'm not sure what I was expecting. LOL Anyway, the vegan pizza was pretty good. The vegetables were still a bit crunchy. Of course, my dd had only 2 bites because she was more interested in playing games. At one point, my dh was taking my dd around, and I was at the table alone. The manager happened to walk by, and he said, " Oh, so *you're* the cheeseless pizza. " We started talking, and he said he'd been a vegetarian for 1 week but went back to eating meat because he missed hot chicken wings too much. We spoke for quite some time, and I gave him suggestions--like I told him there are some vegetarian wings in the frozen food case. I also told him that whatever steps he made toward vegetarianism, however small, would be beneficial to his health. He thanked me for my suggestions and said he looked forward to seeing us again. Always trying to spread the word! Sheri Mommy to Heather Joy 9/28/
