Guest guest
Hi - I'm looking for some suggestions on non-low fat foods. I know that sounds strange, but they are for my one-year-old son. I want to send in some crackers and cookies for him at daycare. I want whole grain, sweetened with sugar alternatives, etc. All the ones I have found are low fat. It just seems to me that a 1 year old needs more fat in his diet than I do, within reason, of course. Can anyone suggest ones that we could try. Thanks, Karen
Guest guest
Have you tried the " Frookie " line of products? They are cookies and crackers and such and are all fruit juice sweetened. Many of the products are packaged for children. Nature's Way also has natural " pop tarts " in a variety of flavors that are quite tasty. And I just discovered New Morning's Whole Wheat Cinnamon Graham crackers which my 1 y/o daughter devours (and she only has her front 2 bottom teeth!). They have 2g of fat/serving. The thing is, most veg*n foods are naturally low in fat anyway. In any case, just a few suggestions I hope are helpful.... Guest guest
i suggest feeding your kids a lot of of avocado, nuts and nut butters and flaxseed. those are great sources of fat. there is a book called the super baby food book that has a section on making crackers. might be interesting to add some fats into a batch...... robin werner wrote:Have you tried the " Frookie " line of products?
