Guest guest
Now 236, I must have upset somebody. Come back. I didn't mean it. : > " The lurking thing really fascinates me. I live in a field near nowhere, I like the sight of vegan chatter on my screen. And I do learn things, and smile. I'm in the same situation and these townies with their shops just don't understand the problems. It's a one hour round trip to buy an organic mushroom. I'm on the Langollen canal on the border of Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire. And I love feeding people (within reason) so anybody up this way come and say hello. I'm also on gardening leave and an insomniac which is why I am so bored I rabbit on here too much. More fun than telly. But.. my new site is about to open... watch this space...i'm going to ask you lot to test it for me.. and with any luck I'll be too busy... and so rich I can open my own vegan retirement community ... or build an eco house... or keep the wolf from the door. Yes I too was once a paper millionaire Hah! always did think it was crap but I was cool site of the month and surfers pick which is pretty good in anybody's book. Puffs chest. Ouch! Where's your nowhere? You don't have to answer that. But weird things happen. One of the uncensored lot, I think she's on here too, (Hi) was just across the fields from me last weekend at a buddhist retreat in a womans vegan community and I didn't even know it was there. duly snipped! ro... Guest guest
Hey Rosanne it's 235 now, someone else probably left because it's not Lesley Dove-free as advertised! When am I going to get kicked out for being me? Or do I have to really misbehave badly? Not that I intend to misbehave, because I'm nice as you all know really! Guest guest
I read these post quite often and have never really said anything except to myself of course. I would like to offer a few suggestions although it's been about five years since my last pregnancy. Quick ideas: Bowtie or penne pasta with blanched calofornia mix of veggies tossed in olive oil, 1/2 tbs Red Star Nutritional Yeast, salt and pepper to taste. Medium baked potato topped with blanched broccoli, leftover burrito filling, salsa and veggie cheese. Vanilla Soy Delicious or Soy Dream " Ice Cream " blended with 1/4 c soy milk, 1tbs flax oil and your choice of fresh or frozen fruit topped with crushed ginger snaps. Two slices 7 grain toast spread with 1tbs soy margarine or Spectrum Spread sprinkled with 1/2 tbs nutritional yeast, 1/2 cup fruited soy yogurt and 4oz. fruit juice. Hope this helps some. Guest guest
What does nutritional yeast really taste like? I'd like to try it, but I only see it in huge containers and I don't want to buy one if I'm not going to like it. - Sonya Parker Friday, September 20, 2002 9:49 AM lurking I read these post quite often and have never really said anything except to myself of course. There is a really great recipe for Southern Fried Tofu and vegan french toast that both use nutritional yeast in the Vegan Vittles Cookbook. We love both around here, the french toast doesn't even taste vegan! Sara Proud Mama to Colin Patrick 12/07/99 Jack Michael 8/07/

It dissolves and to be honest you don't really taste it. It smells a bit " cheesy " in the container, but it just seems to " broaden " the flavour of things a bit, much in the same way that stock does. At least, that's my experience of it. Guest guest
i suggest you don't eat it alone. eat it cooked inside other stuff as a thickener. Guest guest
Nutritional yeast has kind of a nutty-cheesy taste. You can make a great sauce for macaroni and " cheese " with it, a recipe is in The New Farm Cookbook. It's also great sprinkled on popcorn.
