Guest guest
Hi, I am in the chicago area. a friend of mine is looking for a pediatrician who would support her choices of which vaccines she would not like her 4 week old son to receive. she is currently with a pediatrician who told her she was at the wrong practice to make such choices. Is there anyone in this group who lives in the area and has a clue? Thanks. yamani

I was able to find an absolutely wonderful doctor for my boys, who not only respected my decision not to vaccinate, she doesn't even recommend them and has a huge book full of articles on the dangers of them! She also recommends natural courses of action against illness, I was so happy to find her, it is the first doctor that I have gone to that I wasn't crying at some point of sheer frustration! My advice to your friend is to call call call, call any local midwives (mine referred me to my doctor) and ask them, call chiropractors in the area and ask them if they know of any, call all of the doctors in the area and ask them. It can be extremely frustrating and can take awhile, but it is worth it in the end if you can find someone who is in tune with your beliefs. Guest guest
Yamani, I'm not in the area; but I can give you some suggestions to help her in her search. First, contact some chiropractors that treat families and ask them if they have a referral. Also, look for a homeopath that might be willing to work with her. The National Center for Homeopathy is in VA. and might be able to direct her. Good luck. Laura
Guest guest
Re: Anne Macnight and what do we make our child for school You did not say if you are vegan or vegetarian but here is what we make our daughter. She is now in the 4th grade and has never had school lunch. We are vegetarian so you may need to change some ingredients for vegan. However, anything is better than the garbage they serve at school. 1. We cook noodles of some sort of shape and put tomato sauce. She eats this basically at room temp. because we put it in her lunchbox with one of those blue ice things. However, they do make thermos's that can hold the heat if heat is your concern. 2. Same as above but substitute tortellini, 3. Bagel and a spread for example: cream cheese, soy margarine etc. 4. Yogurt with cereal. We put a granola like cereal in a bowl and send a yogurt for her to mix with. 5. Humus with pita for dipping. 6. Shredded cheese with french bread or baguette. 7. Pasta primavera with tofu, and veggies (usually left over from last nights dinner) We also send with her two live foods (uncooked fruits or veggies). For example: cut carrots and cucumbers. along with plums or apples or cantalope etc. Then we send some sort of " desert " like Newman O's or Fig Newmans etc. All her friends want her lunch and area always asking her to share (event he meat eaters) so I guess it works. Guest guest
Hi guys, i'm way behind on reading emails so sorry about that. Jak, i forgot to change the group intro so it said UK and not Bedfordshire. I was originally going to make it for BEDS only then realised the difficulties that would create (this was weeks ago). When we were discussing a seperate AR group i changed it but forgot to change the intro. I hadn't realised there was already a UK AR group - i didn't find it when i searched but i was obviously not looking hard enough. Maybe there isn't a need for the new group then. I barely have time to get a hold of this one! Maybe we could all join the existing group instead and chat on there? What do you think? Lesley, i was interested in what you said about the vaccinations. I worked in the NHS and GPs and Consultants never cease to amaze me - so many people do it for the money and prestige and not because they genuinely want to help people. I was an Occupational Therapist so i was working in a very client-centred way and because of that we often don't get much respect from Consultants and GPs. Anyway, i'm out of that now - and glad. Off to go read some more course books... Laura xWant to chat instantly with your online friends? Get the FREE Messenger

Guest guest
Hi, Nancy! Thanks for your message. Currently, the SBVS list accepts messages from any of its list members. We had discussed the idea of having someone moderate every message before it would go out to the list, but decided that this would be too time-intensive for that individual. Therefore, we will continue to monitor the list for inappropriate postings and deal with them accordingly. In this case, I've removed the offending individual from the list, so he/she will no longer be able to post to the list.
