Please help us with MORE suggestions.............. 8-)

Five TYPES of things have been suggested:

1) Food related education

2) Volunteering

3) Field trips

4) Creative (developing poems, stories, essays, music, skits, plays)

5) Purely recreational

There is some overlap, so I’ll include them in both or all relevant categories:

1) Food related education

a) Pasta and salad making parties

b) Go out with friends to try a different veg eatery

c) Supermarket tours, to find the vegetarian items.

d) Home gatherings with kitchen-testing vegetarian recipes

e) Fun, hands-on class(es) - with regular field trips

weekends, after-school, during school hours on campus, etc.

(i) nutrition

(ii) caring for animals

(iii) making veg(etari)an adjustments to one's life

Nutrition classes could have " Meet & Eat " classes interspersed with the other

classes. The Meet & Eat's could feature making 1 item or type of food per class,

making and eating fun foods enjoyed by that age group:

Tacos, Pizza, Veggieburgers & Fries, Cookies, Other Pastries, Desserts, Stir

Frys, etc.

2) Volunteering

a) Volunteer for any vegetarian-friendly non-profit at any local event/festival

(e.g. Volunteer for the Boston Vegetarian Food Festival

b) Volunteer for an animal shelter, a farm sanctuary, or wildlife/nature

preserve

c) Volunteer for some out-of-the-ordinary community organizations,

such as the local community TV station or CyberCafé.

3) Field trips

a) In the summer or fall, trips to farms that let you

pick fruit or vegetables.

b) Supermarket tours, to find the vegetarian items.

c) go out with friends to try a different veg eatery

4) Creative (developing poems, stories, essays, music, skits, plays)

a) Tell wholesome vegetarian jokes (www.Vegetus.org)

b) Fun, hands-on class(es) - with regular field trips

weekends, after-school, during school hours on campus, etc.

(i) nutrition

(ii) caring for animals

(iii) making veg(etari)an adjustments to one's life

5) Purely recreational

a) Watch veg*an videos (Name some)

b) Tell vegetarian jokes (www.Vegetus.org)
