Guest guest
Dear Anna, There are probably other parents in your school who face similar problems, maybe because they are also vegetarian, or maybe they just want their kids to eat healthier. I've been doing alot of research on this issue over the last few weeks, and it seems to me that working with the school service has to be approached as a longer term project. I've just received funding from FARM for their School Lunch CHOICE project. And am currently working to develop all the back up materials someone like yourself can use to work with the food service. VRG also is a good resource as they have been interested in school lunch options and been working on this project for quite some time. I'm just getting the project going, but I'd like to be of help to you if I can. At this point, I can provide menus, fact sheets, give you helpful background information, put you in touch with people who can help, including a food service director who oversees a school that only prepares veggie meals, etc. and more. Please let me know if you think I can be helpful. Susan PS Don't give up on the food service. Be patient and keep trying! From their perspective, it's a big deal to make a difference in their routine. They need to know that this is not just a whim, but something that's truly important to you. - Tuesday, October 01, 2002 7:21 AM Digest Number 505 > > For more information about vegetarianism, please visit the VRG website at http://www.vrg.org and for materials especially useful for families go to http://www.vrg.org/family. > >
