Congratulations! Yes, extended breastfeeding has many wonderful payoffs, not the least being children who can express their appreciation! It can also lead into tandem nursing, which I am preparing to do for the second time, G-d willing. It can be a little awkward in terms of logistics, but boy does it do a number on that famous sibling rivalry! Be well, Hadass in Winnipeg, Ima to Rafi, 6.5 y/o, weaned on his 4th birthday and Ari, 3.25 y/o and still going strong and little hopeful beginning, due mid-December but probably arriving earlier. Guest guest
Isn't nursing a toddler fun? My son (2yr8mo) was nursing calmly the other day lost in his own thoughts then turned to me quietly looked me straight in the eyes and said 'Delicious!' and went back to nursing. I never get that kind of response from my cooking. LOL He also likes to happily comment 'spicy!' when he is nursing a couple hours after my eating Indian or Thai. (He loves spicy food so that is a big compliment.) I wish I could bottle these moments to take out when he is a teenager and staying out too late. :-) Happy nursing!
