Guest guest
dear chrism, thanks for your words of encouragement. but my thoughts come and go. i've asked (prayed) that my highest, most loving aspect guide me in discriminating which of those thoughts i should entertain and serve. when a thought occurs: i think, 'well, there's a thought...' and then i wonder how seriously i should identify with it and i question whether i may be jumping to a conclusion that may favor a limited interpretation of the situation that produced the thought. so for me -at this point, it's a not process of controlling the occurance of thought , but somehow determining (or controlling, iguess) how seriously i should take that thought. and then some kind of further action or thought springs from that choice. in this way i feel i am doing my best to avoid dogmatic thinking. but ultimately i pray that spirit and my highest self, my guides and the K will help me to discriminate how to respond to thought- and may even determine the quality of those very thoughts themselves. all responses welcome.... love, -steve
Guest guest
This could be considered training for your inner child Steve. Selena and Renee have very good advice and I would suggest you consider it. I would add that its a process that is not overnight but takes a fair measure of practice. On a personal note, I just self correct when I find myself drifting into areas of negativity, negativity meaning hurtful or dis-respecting or ego driven. Maybe you could start with the hurtful thoughts and when you catch yourself replace it with something more helpful. - Works for me - " deepdance1 " <deepdance1 wrote: dear chrism, thanks for your words of encouragement. but my thoughts come and go. i've asked (prayed) that my highest, most loving aspect guide me in discriminating which of those thoughts i should entertain and serve. when a thought occurs: i think, 'well, there's a thought...' and then i wonder how seriously i should identify with it and i question whether i may be jumping to a conclusion that may favor a limited interpretation of the situation that produced the thought. so for me -at this point, it's a not process of controlling the occurance of thought , but somehow determining (or controlling, iguess) how seriously i should take that thought. and then some kind of further action or thought springs from that choice. in this way i feel i am doing my best to avoid dogmatic thinking. but ultimately i pray that spirit and my highest self, my guides and the K will help me to discriminate how to respond to thought- and may even determine the quality of those very thoughts themselves. all responses welcome.... love, -steve
