I've always been a firm believer in free will (and still am -- to

some extent) but in recapitulating, some things have surprised

me. Well maybe astounded me. Recapitulation, in whatever

form, is truly worthwhile. I'm finding out that the " formative "

events in my life weren't chosen by me. I may have set things up

just right, been in the right place at the right time, but it often took

some unexplained circumstance, a supposed coincidence, set

up (and here's the important part) by someone else. Maybe

unwittingly, but by someone else.

I makes me wonder about the approach at one other Kundalini

group where it's claimed you must do this for yourself, with hard

work, etc. Nothing against hard work, but it could be that they're

tapping into cultural norms and expectations rather than being

realistic. This is something I had to look into, but found it

wanting. Meanwhile, I somehow ended up a member of this

small, relatively obscure (as these things go) group through a

misunderstood reference made by someone elsewhere. Just

one of those trivial little accidents, or so you would think...

You choose. Always. Your more than a corporeal unit of flesh and blood and bone.

You are an energy life form having a physical experience where memory is taken

away for a time. The Kundalini is a path, and an entity, and a choice. It takes

work to get to this place John E. So perhaps this is not an accident for you.

The other list is correct though it does take work and desire and intent. Let

Steves teaching be avalable to you. He worked. Now it works - chrism

Good question: I also wonder. When I was in my late teens and early

twenties, I was absolutely determined to get my K up. All I got was a

massive entity trouble, spontaneous OBEs, and--yes--a bunch of very

minor k-related visions. I was so ticked off that I became a militant

atheist: I had looked so hard for the divine, and all I had gotten was

astral garbage! The K came (back?) to me on its own terms about two

years ago, at a time when I least expected it (I was way more

concerned with getting tenured than with developing my spiritual life).

I also keep reading about renonciates who put in long years of penance

and self-deprivation to get their K up. It didn't take me nearly that

long, nor did I have to punish my body and mind in any way. I shed

most of the clutter *after* the K started her work, not before it.

Frankly, it feels like the K chose me, even though I am not a

particularly deserving person.

On the other hand, I have also had a couple of visions about two

previous lives during which I presumably worked the K, so perhaps

there was some accumulated karma that kicked in...

Love & light,
