Poussaint on media's impact on childhood obesity: " One of the ways that the media is affecting the whole epidemic of obesity is a very heavy advertising on television ... particularly on children's shows, of fast foods -- high sugar, high caloric, high fat foods -- and bombarding them with the message that this is the kind of food that you should be eating.
