Guest guest
Just wanted to share a miracle with the group. A few weeks ago, I told a neighbor, who was visiting us, about my 24-month year old son's speech delay. She said that her daughter had the same problem up until she was five years old - the only person that could understand her child was Mamma! She began to demonstrate in front of my son how I should teach him to say words like " tomato " and " pita " by saying the words very slowly and stressing every syllable. After she left, my son said the words " tomato " and " pita " perfectly and kept repeating them until he fell asleep that night. Each day, he would try to say another word correctly and the following week shocked me when he perfectly said, " I want barley, please " - his first sentence. (Prior to this, he only could use one-word sentences!) A few days later, he said, " I want more beans and rice, please. " Out of the blue, he began referring to his books by titles (e.g. " I Will Teach My Dogs 100 Words. " ) Today, he said " Mamma, read this page please. " Every day it's something new! Now I know that his vegan diet is perfectly healthy for him! So be encouraged!
Guest guest
This is wonderful news!! I bet you are soo relieved. It's hard when facing issues around our childrens' well-being not to question ourselves and wonder if the mainstream ideas are right after all. I'm so glad you found someone who could give you practical advice that didn't undermine your confidence. Most of all, I'm glad you'll be hearing " Mommy, I love you " any day now.
