LOL.. for my son taste is a big dea.. fancy that ? I think the easiest way to transition people in that age group is to not hassle them about what they eat outside the house and only set rules about what you are going to prepare or want in your house. Then make familiar looking things. Use artificial, simulated meat like products for lunches outside the house so they don't need to answer questions from peers if they don't want to. Once they find out that a lot of kids will think that being vegetarian is " cool " it gets easier. You might end up with a kid like my daughter, who wears her vegetarianism like a badge, which carries its own set of problems, she's sooo tactful.
