Guest guest
Giving your child vitamins isn't a sign that the diet you are providing, whether vegetarian or not, is a bad choice. Especially toddlers, but all of us could use the extra protection that a vitamin supplement provides. We couldn't possibly eat all in a day that would naturally provide all of the wonderful vitamins and minerals and herbs to provide the best health we can have. I don't think it has anything to do with being a vegetarian. There may be nutritional value to meat and other animal products that are lacking in a vegetarian diet, or are less in a vegetarian diet, but aniaml products also make lots of things much less asorbable by the body, so non-vegetarian children should be on supplements as well! Guest guest
I have vitamins in my cupboard but I don't think my kids ever take them. My kids drink calcium fortified OJ and fortified Soy Milk. I also make a meal plan for them every week and make sure I am meeting the guidelines for the amount of nutrients they need. They are all good eater and eat just about anything I put on their plates. As long as they look healthy and are full of energy I am not going to worry about it. Guest guest
Giving your child a vitamin supplement is just another way to aid their growing bodies. It shouldn't be an issue of about diet and vegetarianism, its just wanting the best health possible for your child. Do whatever your conscience feels is best for your child and don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise. --- Tanya L <telnjml wrote: > > Giving your child vitamins isn't a sign that the > diet > you are providing, whether vegetarian or not, is a > bad > choice.
