Janis, I had a friend who would order a large steak, medium rare, and then boldly say to me her body was telling her it wanted iron and she was just listening to her body. But she also smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day, drank a ton of coffee, and never exercised, so that seemed like a shoddy excuse to me! As for your cravings, it's not unusual. Especially for people new to veg*nism, who still remember the taste of meat. See if you can find alternatives that would fit the bill. Try to remember, it's not that your body wants shrimp - it's just the Pavlovian response to the advertisement! :-D Books - someone mentioned the one by Rose Elliot, the Vegetarian Mother and Baby. it is good for recipes, and for nutrient info, but *not* for breastfeeding info. She's quite out-of-date and uninformed on this. For great nutritional info but *not* for recipes, there's the New Vegetarian Baby by Sharon k. Yntema and Christine H. Beard. But my strongest recommendation is to get yourself a subscription (costs less than new books!) to vegetarian baby and child magazine www.veggiebaby.com Also you might want to check out vegfamily.com And - congratulations!! )) ~Doh
