Guest guest
Tom's of Maine here too. Just a teeny tiny bit does the trick. Stephanie - admartin Monday, January 13, 2003 11:34 PM Search for Children's Teeth Cleaner I've only used water on a toothbrush and a washcloth to clean my 2-year old's teeth but believe that I should be using something more for the cleaning. I considered baking soda until I read that a child under 5 should not ingest the soda and I know my child would attempt to swallow it! What are the rest of you doing to clean your toddler's teeth? Any " kosher " recommendations? Guest guest
My daughter is not quite 2. I still just use water on a toothbrush (and probobly will till shes at least 2 1/2 - 3), but I know that there are some non-flouride childrens toothpastes out there. I havent checked into them thought to see what all they contain. Rachael , " admartin@e... Guest guest
I certainly wouldn't use Toms of Maine as it contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate a none carcinogen. There are others at Bread and Circus. Read the labels and avoid the Sulfates EPA has documented materials about this ingredient. ---- Tuesday, January 14, 2003 4:02:19 PM Re: Search for Children's Teeth Cleaner My daughter is not quite 2. But, if I wanted to use a toothpaste, he said to use one without fluoride until she learns to spit it out. Swallowing it would not be good for her. I bought some Tom's of Maine non-fluoride toothpaste for children http://www.tomsofmaine.com/toms/product.asp?dept%5Fid=300 & pf%5Fid=TP%2DFFK , but my dd just didn't like it, so I went back to just water. Guest guest
My 14 month old daughter has used a product called First Teeth Toothpaste since about 6 months old. This product is the only 100% natural toothpaste that contains lactoperoxidase, an enzyme found both in saliva and mother's breast milk and are essential in reducing harmful bacteria in the mouth. It is a really good product - tastes great, too. I found this toothpaste at the Whole Foods Market near our home. For more info about First Teeth, check it out on the Internet at http://www.laclede.com/children.html#ft Hope this helps...Michelle smartgirl27us <thesmartfamily3 [thesmartfamily3] Tuesday, January 14, 2003 12:19 PM Re: Search for Children's Teeth Cleaner My daughter is not quite 2. Guest guest
I use Logodent's Dental Gel for Children, it has no sodium lauryl sulfate, no animal ingredients and no flouride, and tastes very mild. They have several flavors, and it's in many health food stores. My son doesn't just swallow it, he has been known to suck it out of the tube! Blech! Can't wait until he outgrows that. ~Doh ------ " Our despair over our own powerlessness is simply a lie we are telling ourselves.
