Guest guest
Hi, I had two internal sonograms while pregnant with my son. He's 6, healthy, and terrific. While there are some naysayers, I don't think there is any substantiated evidence against using sonograms during pregnancy. The waves are ultrasonic, which is a low-frequency, low-energy wave just outside human hearing. It's basically a gentle vibration, so it's less harmful than giving your tummy a massage with a vibrator. As for the enlarged ventricle in the brain, not to worry. Perhaps I should say congratulations! I have an enlarged left ventricle (that's the open fluid-filled space), discovered during a catscan in my 20s. It's not that common, I'm told, although harmless. It does not adversely affect brain function--I'm a magazine editor with a degree in physics and a masters in astrophysics. My father also has an enlarged left ventricle in his brain and is a PhD geologist (and a vegetarian like his daughter). So...perhaps it could be theorized that the larger ventricle facilitates circulation and engenders highly-logical thought. " Wicked smaht, " as native New Englandahs say. And extremely modest. Ha ha. Live long and prosper, ye earthlings of symmetrical brain proportions. Valerie Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now

I read a study that said that the ultrasonic waves creat noise inside womb that is equal to a high note played on a piano at the volume of a train passing by.
