Guest guest
I don't trust Katy Curic as far as my feral cat could throw her. {And have you seen all that leather she wears? What a waste to have her on TV.} Miriam <veggie_nut_99 wrote: This was a topic on " The Today Show " with Katy Curic " . Did anyone see it. She gave more time to the woman representing the kids school lunches than NEIL BARNARD! If you all are familar with Neil, he represents Physicans for Responsible Medicince....I believe...correct me if I am not! The woman said, " many kids eat these meals along with use of vending machines with more unhealthy choices. Some 6 schoools are choosing healthy snacks of fresh fruit in 6 schools...I was just waking up when I turned it on. But she gave more time to HER than NEIL, which irked me!! I do recall Neil saying " how when agricultural goes up, for some reason the kids get those items of beef and cheese. Why can't they make a choice for kids to choose from like beans and cheese burrito, or spagetti with tomato sauce? " Katy interupts him and says, " What kids would eat that? " So, do any of you all have kids? How do you all feel about all this with the kids school lunches? Do you pack them a healthy lunch? Do they like that better than what is served at today's schools? Guest guest
Right now, only my daughter is in school all day. She is my super-picky eater, so I feel much safer sending in her lunch. She usually has soy milk, peanut butter snails (either wraps or flattened whole wheat bread spread with organic peanut butter) or pasta mixed with a little oil, parmesan and veggies or some soy yogurt. I always send in a veggie and a fruit to go with it. On occassion, I do allow her to purchase a pizza lunch. I try to make sure that I am in school at lunchtime that day to ensure that she eats at least a fruit or veggie to go with it. I'm not a big fan of dairy products, especially non-organic ones, but sometimes she enjoys eating with the rest of the kids. In general, our school lunches appear balanced (on paper), but other than pizza, there are no vegetarian options. I'd love to see them do a pasta primavera or even a soy burger at times. Any time they have pasta, it's served with a meat sauce. - " Maynard S.
