Guest guest
I dont know this couple or the results of their trial. but I am annoyed with them being described as vegan (vegan is a philosophy of being compassionate and humane in all areas of life not a diet although the eating is about being humane to all sentient beings) They sound like they are strict about what they eat. A form of strict vegatarianism but not vegan. Breastmilk or formula is a compassionate food for babies and cod liver oil is a fish ingredient and not compassionate to the will to live of sea creatures. So I don't believe the diet is about being compassionate to fish or babies as much as it is about doing what the parents might think is the best thing for the baby even if they were misguided. I know this is a side but it is upsetting to me to see a misrepresention of those who practice the philosophy of veganism. Instead, the couple gave her a vegan diet of ground nuts, fresh squeezed juice, herbal tea, beans, cod liver oil and flaxseed oil. Ice and a brother born in July 2002 are in foster care, authorities said. The husband and wife followed vegan dietary practices, prosecutors said, meaning they ate no meat, dairy, fish or eggs. >>
