Low Salt Cheeze

I just checked my fridge for the soy cheeze my son likes. It's by

Soymage. Singles and block form.. The sodium is 200+ per serving. (!)

Have you checked out rice, hemp, almond cheezes or looked into making

your own? I have a bunch of cheeze recipes, but I'm not sure what the

sodium content of them is - you could most likely alter the amount while

making though.. ?

Good luck to you. Let me know if you'd like a few recipes.

I don't know about the smell, but I tried one (I think it was supposed to be

cheddar) and it tasted awful. I gave some to my daughter who took a bite, got

the most awful look on her face and spent the next several minutes spitting it

out in the garbage and making gagging sounds. LOL.

Am I the only one who thinks soymage smells horrible? I gag when I open the

package!

I can't bear to taste it, but my kids gobble it up. I wouldn't eat it if you

paid me to, though.

I just bought Soymage's vegan parmesan, and at least it passes the smell test. I

took a little taste and it's not an exact match, but I can probably get used to

it.

I bought Zendon's chocolate soy pudding, and that is excellent. Even my husband

had to admit it was good, and he generally flees at the very mention of soy - no

soy milk, tofu, etc. for him. I haven't tried it for my daughter yet. She

refuses to drink soy milk, but does not drink cow's milk either (her only

exception is that she will drink it with doughnuts, but as she only has them a

couple of times a year, she's not getting much milk). I don't care that she

doesn't drink milk, but she needs to be getting some calcium and protein from

somewhere. I thought the pudding would at least provide some calcium.
