Guest guest
Hi Sarceto, About the Emerald Tablet: I asked Chris to upload it a while ago because it resonated with what I saw during my first kundalini surge (you know, one of those Haha! moments...). There is a striking similarity between alchemy and esoteric yoga. Both advocate exploring what is " inside " (in the subtler sense of the word) the human body for the sake of finding enlightenment. The philosopher's stone is, in fact, kundalini. " Visita Interiora Terre Rectificando Inveniet Occultum Lapidem " is Latin for " A visit to the interior of the Earth rectifying [false knowledge] finds the hidden stone " . The symbols inside the Emerald Table stand for the five elements/chakras, as well as the Sun and the Moon (ida and pingala) converging in the kundalini flow. Just like mandalas and yantras, the Emerald Tablet was used for meditation and contemplation. As to the pseudo-chemical language used by alchemists: it was just a way to confuse non-initiates. All the substances that are mentioned in the alchemic tradition are, in fact, types of energy ranging from physical matter to the spirit. Pretty cool stuff, though quite abstruse at times... Maybe... how about Shiva and Shakti, as the masculine and feminine principles united in the chymical wedding? Anyway, Sarceto might also want to know that the Emerald Tablet usually refers to a short treatise of unknown origin that outlines the goals of alchemy or hermeticism (by any other name): As above (the cosmos), so below (the human body)...
