Guest guest
The Sanskrit name for the Sun Salutation is Surya Namaskar. If you google it, you will find a lot of websites that give a pretty detailed description with pictures. The Surya Namaskar C series (the easiest of all) is available among others at http://www.santosha.com/asanas/suryanamaskar.html The Surya Namaskar is a beautiful series of flowing asanas meant to heat up the body and boost the lower chakras, drawing energy from the earth through feet and hands and helping it rise up to the heart, throat, and third eye (if the standing pose is done with a deep backbend). It should be repeated about 6 to 12 times in one go--with caution because of the potential for rotator cuff injuries. Just like with any other yoga pose, the Surya Namaskar should not be performed daily but rather on alternate days to avoid repetitive strain injuries. Hope this helps.
