Guest guest
EDITED EXTRACT from a contributor to another website. Please note it is strictly that person's opinion: " I was born and raised in the Pentecostal church when it was in its infancy - in the 1930s. I have many, many family members who are charismatic and close family who are practicing ministers in the charismatic movement. I have sat through twenty years of being surrounded by and witnessing the " speaking in tongues, " babbling, ecstatic rolling on the floor, rolling of the head and eyes while foaming at the mouth, and many other manifestations of the " charismatic " experience. What they all have in common is that in almost every case the person displaying any one of these things is that - they have absolutely no memory of what they just experienced. I have been told this personally by both of my parents (who have displayed these activities) and many others who have experienced them. This is not kundalini. This is trancemediumship. Trancemediumship is the ability of the individual entity to leave their body and to allow another entity (who doesn't have a body) to enter and control their reality. We are all trancemediums but most of us are sufficiently present to control our reality and know what is going on. Regardless of whether or not you know what has happened while another entity is present, you - the owner of the body - are responsible for what happens to it and with it 24/7. The kundalini that I began practicing twenty-five years ago is the kundalini that runs up the spine. I was taught how to control it and use it for my personal benefit yet it has taken me a long time to learn to use it correctly. Yes you can have a kundalini style " religious " experience, but with that type the individual is generally not in control though they can be. I have had some wonderful kundalini experiences (still do). I have been awakened wide awake in the middle of the night and unable to return to sleep because my kundalini was running so strongly (and I could feel it running clearly up my spine) and I was unable to turn it back down for several hours. I've had all sorts of kundalini experiences and am aware of it constantly (running up my spine) but it's not for me to define it to you, but for others to experience it. You don't need a guru for it (you don't need a guru for anything, you are your own guru), but an experienced teacher who teaches you how to turn it on and off is essential for practical application. " Chris, how do you feel about this Kundalini vs Charismatic energy distinction? Love and best wishes to all - John R.
