Guest guest Posted January 10, 2000 Report Share Posted January 10, 2000 * Exported from MasterCook * Veggie Pizza Subs Recipe By :The Meatless Gourmet, Bobbie Hinman Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : The Meatless Gourmet Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 6-inch submarine rolls 1 8 oz can tomato sauce 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano 1/4 teaspoon dried basil 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder pepper to taste 1 1/2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese -- (6 ounces) 1/2 cup thinly sliced onion 1/2 cup thinly sliced green bell pepper 1/2 cup thinly sliced mushrooms 12 black olives -- sliced Preheat oven to 425°F. Cut rolls in half lengthwise and open them up. DO NOT cut all the way through. Place rolls cut-side up on an ungreased baking sheet. In a small bowl, combine tomato sauce, oregano, basil, garlic powder, and pepper. Mix well. Divide evenly and spread on cut sides of rolls. Sprinkle evenly with cheese. In another bowl, toss together onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and olives. Divide mixture evenly and pile on top of cheese. Bake 12 minutes or until cheese is melted and vegetables begin to brown. Serve like a pizza or fold them up and enjoy as a sandwich.
