PAPRIKAS BURGONYA

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2 med onions -- peeled and chopped

2 cloves garlic -- crushed

3 tbsp shortening

1/4 tsp caraway seed

1 tbsp Hungarian paprika -- (1 to 2)

Salt and pepper -- to taste

6 med potatoes -- peeled and cubed

1 c sour cream -- at room temperature

 

 

In a saucepan, saute onions and garlic in hot shortening until tender.

Stir in caraway seeds, paprika, salt, and pepper; cook 1 minute. Add

potatoes and enough water to barely cover. Cook slowly, covered, for

20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Stir in sour cream; leave on

low heat until hot.
