Sheryl * Exported from MasterCook * Golden Oat Pilaf Recipe By :Woman's Day, May, 1987 Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Grains REG Sheryl D Side Dishes Vegetables Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 tablespoons butter 1/2 cup coarsely chopped mushrooms 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper 1/2 cup chopped green onions 1 1/2 cups raw oats 1 large egg 1 cup vegetable broth 1/3 cxup oat bran cereal -- uncooked Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add vegetables and cook, stirring often, for 3-5 minutes or until tender. In a medium bowl, mix oats and egg until the oats are evenly coated. Add to the skillet and stir 3-4 minutes or until oats are dry, separated and golden. Add broth; reduce heat to low and cook 2-3 minutes or until liquid is partially absorbed.
