Makes 12 thick slices. NOTES: I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I got this idea for this loaf from my hair conditioner. Despite this, it is a classic, wonderful combination. Find dried sour cherries at specialty shops or health food stores or by mail from American Spoon Foods: 411 East Lake Street, Petoskey, MI 49770, (616) 347-9030. JENN'S LOWER FAT NOTES: Use skim milk instead of regular, use unsweetened applesauce instead of butter.
