Guest guest
I'm going to try these for her this week. * Exported from MasterCook * Brownies Recipe By :The Menopause Cookbook - Hope Ricciotti,M.D., and Vincent Connelly Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- canola oil for oiling baking pan 1/2 cup flax seeds 1 1/2 cups unbleached, all-purpose flour 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 cup raw sugar 2 teaspoons baking sodaa 1 cup soy milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 4 tablespoons brown rice syrup 4 ounces vanilla yogurt With soy milk and flaxseed as the major ingredients of these phytoestrogen-rich brownies, it will be difficult to feel guilty about eating them. This recipe makes cakelike brownies, not chewy ones. Heat the oven to 325F. Lightly oil an 8 x 8-inch baking pan. Grind the flaxseed in a coffee grinder until it resembles flour. Set aside. Combine the flour, cocoa, sugar, and baking soda in a large bowl. Combine the soy milk, ground flaxseed, vanilla, brown rice syrup, and yogurt in the work bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade. Process the ingredients until they bubble. Fold the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients. Spoon the batter into the prepared pan. Bake the brownies for 25 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool before slicing them.
