Guest guest Posted February 5, 2000 Report Share Posted February 5, 2000 from Mauny's kitchen * Exported from MasterCook * Bananas Foster Our Style Recipe By :Mauny Kaseburg, Seattle, WA Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : DESSERTS Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1/2 cup light brown sugar 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans 4 large ripe bananas -- peeled and cut into diagonal 1.5-inch pieces 3/4 cup Myer's rum 1/4 cup frangelico liqueur 1 quart very good quality vanilla ice cream Melt butter in large saute pan, then add brown sugar and pecans and continue cooking over medium heat until sugar is melted. Add bananas to butter-sugar mixture and cook about 2 minutes until just tender. Add rum and liqueur; then, when it bubbles, light with match AND STAND BACK!!! Shake pan to distribute flaming liquid, spooning it over bananas to coat fruit well. As soon as flames die, spoon over prepared bowls of ice cream and serve immediately. They use banana liqueur and cinnamon as well as the requisite rum, butter and brown sugar. But I like the idea of a little Frangelico and some pecans just a little twist, but very tasty. Nutr.
