I don't see much point in this: M**t for meat, or ch*cken for chicken.

That's just dumb.

If someone's offended by just those words, they need to really get a life.

I'm with you all the way here Christine. It seems maybe just a wee bit of

common sense would be in order. This kind of reminds me of the time I posted

a " no-fat " chocolate chip cookie recipe to another list. Like Karen said, we

don't make up the recipe names...we just post them. And of course, they

weren't no-fat, they were lowfat enough to fall within USDA guidelines for

nofat though. You wouldn't believe the postings that one recipe generated.

Sheesh....if people are that concerned they need to learn where their delete

buttons are. Of course, someone got irritated when we talked about gifts (I

think it was Christmas) on the MC list too. Go figure. I delete threads all

the time that don't interest me. Lots of the tech stuff just doesn't apply.

The same goes for recipes on the various lists...lots of them don't appeal to

me. Well, there's my $0.02

I think it's kinda silly, but then every time someone says " Worcestershire, "

someone has to go into the " that's not veggie " dissertation, rather than

just saying, " I use xxx brand of Veggie Worcestershire. What do you use in

this recipe? " or some nonesense like that.

So at least when someone's being cutsey with spelling, no one's going to

waste time and bandwidth writing about animal products in Worcestershire

sauce, when chances are pretty darned good that person submitting the recipe

meant VEGGIE Worcestershire sauce in the first place.

As if " cheez " weren't bad enough, now you're using " kreem " too?

This is a bit much. Does anyone actually think this is cute or

funny?

Just wondering.

My sentiments exactly, Christine. And I feel the same way about recipes

with chicken broth. I hope people assume that if a recipe is posted with

chicken broth, they can substitute imitation chicken broth or vegetable

broth.

To some people, though, every (did I mention EVERY) thing is a big deal.

I mean, there's a moment to educate and time to look at the poster and say,

" Goodness. She's posted 30,000 veggie recipes. I'll bet she just missed

this one, or realizes I'm smart enough to substitute!! "

But then all day long, I dealt with users where EVERYthing was a big deal

today. <sigh>

Point's been made, hasn't it Karen. <LOL> Nice to see I'm not alone, though!
