Guest guest Posted February 16, 2000 Report Share Posted February 16, 2000 Posted by: Carla * Exported from MasterCook * Gingerbread Waffles Recipe By :Southern Living® 1991 Annual Recipes Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Breakfast Waffles Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 cup sugar 3 eggs -- beaten 1 cup buttermilk 1/2 cup molasses 1/3 cup shortening -- melted Combine first 6 ingredients; set aside. Combine eggs, buttermilk, molasses, and melted shortening, stirring well; add to flour mixture, stirring until blended. Bake in preheated, oiled waffle iron. Serve with butter and syrup. NOTE: Waffles may be frozen and reheated in the microwave or conventional oven.
