Guest guest
Just my 2cents , but I have to say- every morning I make a smoothie of some sort, and banannas are the key.. i have to conclude, it's best to use frozen banannas.. My fav calls for honey, vanilla nd carob powder ( carob i skip uz i have none- but it's still very yummy) Mine I also make with silken tofu and vanilla soy milk so there's lots of good stuff in there- to all who are interested- Pier 1 Imports sells a book on Smoothies- deserts one, vegan ones( or no-moo blends as they call it) , classics, and drunken ones! haha it's an awesome book- i recommend it. ps- for those interested, I mix 2 frozen banannas ( freeze whole, then slice) with 1/4 cup silken tofu & 1/4 soy milk, tsp vanilla extract & tbspn honey blend away! good way to get your fruit! and get extra protein- f you do soy protein shakes ( as i do) mix your protein powder right in! power shake, i tell ya! it'll get you off of coffee inthe a.m.! jkujawa on 02/18/2000 08:01:35 AM Veg-Recipes cc: (bcc: Jamie Orozco/SHI) Banana Smoothie jkujawa * Exported from MasterCook * Banana Smoothie Recipe By :The New Farm Vegetarian Cookbook Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup soy milk 1 cup ice 3 medium bananas 2 tablespoons honey dash salt Combine ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Guest guest
Why have I never thought about using cashews in smoothies? I've used peanut butter often, for over 25 years, but never thought of using cashews as a tofu substitute! Now that one of mine can't have soy, this is a GREAT idea! And BTW, this group is wonderful! It's so refreshing to belong to a natural food recipe group where I don't have to convert everything from " whole wheat this " and " whole wheat that " !
